In addition to the SAO Awards, the SOCA AWARDS Organization Inc. presents other notable honorees. These awards recognize contributions and activities of significance to the recording field that fall outside the framework of the SOCA AWARDS categories, and include the SAO President's Award, the Colin Jackman's Award, SAO Lifetime Achievement Award, the SAO Hall Of Fame Award, the SAO Legend Award, the SAO Technical Award and the SAO Trustees Award.
SAO Awards
The INTERNATIONAL SOCA AWARDS is the most prestigious award show in the Soca recording industry, presented annually by the SOCA AWARDS Organization, Inc. An iSA is awarded by the SOCA AWARDS Organization voting membership (International Soca Academy) to honor excellence in the Soca recording industry. It is truly a peer honor, awarded by artists and technical professionals for artistic and/or technical achievement, not sales or chart positions. The annual INTERNATIONAL SOCA AWARDS presentation brings together thousands of creative and technical professionals in the Soca recording industry from all over the world.
SAO: President's Award, the Colin Jackman's Award
The President’s Award, the COLIN JACKMAN’S Award was established in 2009 by the SOCA AWARDS Organization, Inc. It is the highest honor of the SOCA AWARDS Organization. This prestigious award is given to an individual who has made outstanding artistic significant contributions to the SOCA art form, in the field of recording. To obtain this award, an individual has to display a spirit of philanthropy, perseverance in his or her field, therefore displaying a true well-rounded star quality.
SAO: Life Time Achievement Award
The SOCA Lifetime Achievement Award, established in 2004, is presented by the SOCA AWARDS Organization, Inc. to performers who, during their lifetimes have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.
SAO: Hall of Fame Award
The SOCA Hall of Fame Award was established by the SOCA AWARDS Organization, Inc. in 2005 to honor recordings of consistent quality and continued success in the SOCA industry that spans throughout the performer’s career. Inductees are selected annually by a special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the SOCA recording arts.
SAO: Legend Award
This Special Merit Award is presented on occasion by the SOCA AWARDS Organization, Inc. to individuals or groups for ongoing contributions / influence in the recording field. The SOCA Legend Award began in 2004.
SAO: Technical Award
Presented by the SOCA AWARDS Organization, Inc. the Technical SOCA AWARD recognizes individuals and organizations that made significant contributions to the SOCA art form other than to the field of recording. The Technical Award was established in 2005.
